În finala de canoe pe 500 m (C1- 500 m) din cadrul Campionatelor Mondiale de kaiac – canoe care au avut loc în acest an la Samarkand, din Uzbekistan, Cătălin Chirilă a trecut al treilea linia de sosire.  Canoistul stelist a fost cronometrat cu timpul de 01:48:456, fiind devansat de moldoveanul Serghei Tarnovschi (01:47.312) şi de cehul Martin Fuksa (01:48.405).

În finala, de la canoe simplu pe 200 m (C1 – 200 m), Chirilă a fost al 8-lea.

La Mondialele din 2023 de la Duisburg, Cătălin Chirilă a cucerit aur la C1 - 500 m și argint la C1- 1000 m.

În finala de la C2 - 1000 m, Ilie Sprincean și Oleg Nuță au terminat pe locul 5. La CM din 2023, tandemul Sprincean/ Nuță a cucerit medalia de bronz la C2 - 1000 m.

Cătălin Chirilă, Bronze Medalist at the World Championships

In the 500 m canoe final (C1- 500 m) at the World Kayak-Canoe Championships held this year in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, Cătălin Chirilă finished third. The Steaua Club canoeist was timed at 01:48.456, being beaten by the Serghei Tarnovschi (Moldavia) (01:47.312) and the Czech Martin Fuksa (01:48.405).

In the final of the 200 m single canoe (C1 – 200 m), Chirilă finished 8th.

At the 2023 World Championships in Duisburg, Cătălin Chirilă won gold in the C1 - 500 m and silver in the C1- 1000 m.

In the C2 - 1000 m final, Ilie Sprincean and Oleg Nuță finished in 5th place. At the 2023 World Championships, the Sprincean/Nuță duo won the bronze medal in the C2 - 1000 m.
